So I'm currently in love with Vegan Feminism so if you ask me about veganism right now this is probably exactly what I'll chatter on about. I'm going to link a really great interview with Carol J. Adams who is one of the prominent authors in vegan feminism. If you like her article I suggest reading "The Sexual Politics of Meat" (they have it in the York library!). www.cyberchimp.co.uk/research/manifesto.htmWhat I find really fascinating about vegan feminism or feminist veganism is that it is a mixing of two very "radical" ideas that are often very separate and often ignore each other. The theory acknowledges that they have a lot in common and are both about getting rid of oppression. I also like the two terms because you could say I'm a vegan, and the type of vegan I am is feminist or similarly I am a feminist and the type of feminist is vegan. That idea is just so fantastic to me because it shows that you can't just deal with one alone. Our identities are interwoven and this is something I'm excited to experiment with and show.
