The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada is open to the public from May to October on Wednesdays and Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm. It is located near Guelph, so it might be out of the way for many of you, but it's a very lovely place. The sanctuary takes in donkeys that have been abused or simply need a home. It is also the home to several sheep and goats. The animals roam free range and are very pleasant to interact with. If you come on open days you can go for a walk on the property, listen to talks, sponsor a donkey and perhaps even groom one. For more information check out: www.thedonkeysanctuary.caI also volunteer there, most likely on Wednesday mornings, so perhaps I'll see you there!
