I was alarmed a few days ago, april 27 when I heard the yelp of a baby squirrel from behind the aluminum siding in the outside corridor west, just around the video screen past the north exit of the center for the arts.
I'm not sure how the squirrel got there. It was freezing cold it was probably looking for shelter, and somehow got trapped?
I went back to York Security, they told me to call 311, No report was made.
I called 311. Don't think they made a report. Tried to get the animal services out and do something, but they will only come under special conditions (ex the animal is bleeding and is in obvious pain.
Few days later I decided to investigate and saw evidence of animals struggling. There were feathers and the fur of a dead squirrel. Dirt was pushed out from behind the aluminum siding, there was also defecation.
I would like to follow up on these observations, with facilities, to make sure that there is nothing causing animals to be trapped in the walls of York.
Also please report on this thread any important observations you might have with regard to this matter.

Thanks for making the post!
I also encourage anyone to post if they find any dead animals.
York is currently using pesticides that can be lethal to wildlife, including birds and honey bees. The common protocol for the staff is to dispose of any animals immediately. They do not document dead animals (which I am trying to change and am working on a proposal for them), so if they die from pesticides or from getting caught as Steve saw nothing will be done until we can prove that it's a real issue.
I've only managed to find one dead bird at York this year (they clean them up in the morning) and one raccoon last year. Both either died of natural causes or pesticides, as they were completely intact and not near any buildings.
